200 White lights 200 Red lights and 200 Green lights per mini tree
How To:
The way i did my mini trees I haven't seen described anywhere, but the idea for using chicken wire on the tomato cages I got from TED on PlanetChristmas.com. First I cut off the bottom two rings just above the second ring so i could have somewhat small trees. I left legs on the trees so i can have something to stick in the ground. I the bent over the top three legs so the lights and tie wraps don't slide off. I then tie wrapped chicken wire starting at one leg and rolling the cage to the next leg tie wrapping that and repeating on the third leg. Once that was done, i cut the excess chicken wire off and bent inward the little pieces under the bottom ring to hold the wire on better. I tie wrapped a strand of white, a strand of red and a strand of green at the female end in one shot at the top, and wrapped them all the way down to the bottom (tightly with no gaps), added another strand of each to go back up to the top to fill in blank spots and plugged those in at the top. Repeat each step till youve completed your desired amount of mini trees. This year I'm only doing 8 so I can get an idea for 2008.
